It's raining today which brings a slightly cooler temperature and a bit of relief as we have been having 30C plus temperatures of late so it's a nice change. Really crazy the weather we have been having here in OZ....horrific floods, 3 cyclones one of which was devastating, bushfires and really bad heat waves....so today there's no complaining from me....I'll be happy with a bit of rain! I loved it that much I actually stood out in it and washed my car which was in dire need of a good bath!

Australian Flood Appeal Charity Kit..

As you may be aware Australia recently had one of it's worst floods in this country's history. Many communities have been devastated. Thousands of families have lost everything and some families have not only lost everything but lost loved ones too. 75% of the State of Queensland (where I live) has been declared a disaster zone. To put it into perspective...the floods covered an area bigger than France and Germany combined, or bigger than Texas and New Mexico combined. So as you can appreciate that is a massive area affected.

Besides personally donating money, goods and volunteering with the cleanup here in Brisbane (Queensland's capital city) I've also joined a huge line up of talented designers and participated in a massive charity collab kit.

I can't believe it's been 2 months since I last posted. I've been really busy with one thing and another and the time has just slipped by so quickly.

Long time no post....

My goodness I can't believe it's been so long since I posted on my blog....this year just seems to be flying by so quickly and there never seems to be enough time to do anything lately. Maybe it's because I'm getting older and when you are young the days just seem to drag by sooooooo slowly especially the holidays. Speaking of which here in OZ the kids are on school holidays at the moment so I'm busy trying to find things for my little one to do. Luckily there are a couple of good kids movies out at the moment and the local shopping malls have activities for kids to do so looks like we'll be doing that for the next 2 weeks. Unfortunately hubbie has no time off work so we won't be going anywhere too far from home.

I've put a couple of new items into my stores at Ahhh Scrap and Bouquet of Pixels:

Jenna's story:
Jenna was diagnosed in Dec of 2009, with Post Transplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder,a form of Cancer caused by the anti-rejection medications she received following her transplant. She received a liver transplant in 1997 when she was 7 years old. Jenna is now home from her 1st Semester of college at Bemidji State University in MN, receiving a rigorous chemotherapy treatment for the next 6 months.

100% of proceeds from this kit will be given to Jenna to cover her medical expenses.

Nine designers have joined together to bring you this fun spring kit. These designers have donated 68 papers, 93 elements, 1 full alphabet, and 2 12x12 quick pages.

365 Project and Sale!

Ok so I'm a bit late but thought I'd get on the 365 Project bandwagon and take some photos but thought I'd do it weekly rather than daily because I know I'll never get around to sticking to it...bit like my new year's resolutions each year...I start out with such good intentions which only last the first month so we'll see how long I can do this for.

Here's my first week's photos which are of a frilly neck lizard which made itself at home on our front lawn. At first when I saw it I thought it was dead because it just layed there with it's eyes closed and as I got closer it still didn't attempt to scurry away. I couldn't believe how close it allowed me to get to take these photos which were taken using my EFS 18-55mm Canon lense.

Who/What Inspires You:
Anything that catches my eye really. I see things around me in a different light since I've been designing to what I did when I was just scrapping. I love textures and grungy things but I also like the clean cut look.

Favorite Product You've Made:
I'd have to say my last collaboration kit called 'Christmas Whimsy' that I designed with Erika of Inkin' Creations. It has 22 patterned and solid textured papers, 67 elements and a full alpha. It's a great children's Christmas kit as it has so many adorable little characters in it!

How Long Have You Been Scrapbooking/Digiscrapbooking/Designing:

I've been digi-scrapping for approx 3 years and designing for roughly 2 years.

What would you say your scrapping style is?
I don't really have a particular scrapping style. I just design whatever I feel like at the time I sit down at my computer.

What is your most embarrassing moment (that you are willing to share that is!)
Too many to share really. Embarrassing moments just have a way of finding me unfortunately and I've had so many since my little boy came along. Kids are just so innocent and say things especially in public at the most inappropriate times.

Do you have a new item to share?

Hard to believe Christmas is just around the corner for another year! Doesn't seem that long ago since I took down the Christmas tree and decorations and packed them away and now I have to get them out and do it all over again.

My little one is getting so excited as some of our neighbours have already got their outside Christmas lights up and turned on and they just look so gorgeous so I guess we will have to get ours out and put them onto the house but I think we'll wait until the weekend to tackle that one!

Do you have days like that!!! Usually it's one of my 6 year olds songs that gets stuck in my head but for once it's one of my fav songs at the moment that is stuck there.

Just so it's not bouncing around in my head only here it is so it can get stuck in yours too!!!

The song is called 'The Last Day on Earth' and it's sung by a fellow Aussie Kate Miller-Heidke.

Lots of things happening at the moment both at home and in my digi-world.

My little one has been really sick with high temps and a rash since last Wed night but is now on the mend thank goodness. According to the doctor he has a virus but nothing serious which I'm very thankful for. Nothing worse than having your little ones sick. So he is now on the mend and now my husband is home sick with the onset of the flu - fever, chills, bad heachaches, aching joints etc. all those terribly things just to make you feel so miserable!

All of this leading up to a 'girls weekend away' this weekend that 2 girlfriends of mine and I have planned for a couple of months. Always the way isn't it - Murphy's Law!!! Just hope my 2 boys are both ok before than!

Now to the happenings in my digi-world....

Cu Overlay Freebie

Just doing a bit of a cleanup of my HD and I found this transparent png overlay that I did ages ago and forgot to put it on my blog. Hope someone can use it!!! The overlay is CU but the paper sampler is PU as I used a textured overlay on it that another designer created.

I'm back again after having a lovely relaxing 10 day family camping holiday. Even though I completely enjoyed myself I must say there is nothing like your own hot shower and bed to snuggle into...

Today at Ahhh Scrap we are introducing a brand new category called 'Mix n Match'. This is a category where each month a new colour palette is chosen and the designers at the store will create whatever they like using the same palette. You will then be able to 'Mix n Match' as many of the products you wish and you will then end up with as big a collaboration kit as you like.

For the first week of the month each part will sell for $1 and then increase to $2 for the second week and thereafter each part will return to it's regular price. So if you wish to grab a bargain head on over during the first week and grab each part for $1.

{Alpha Anyone???}

Trish of Tricia Curtis Designs, my lovely fellow designer over at Ahhh Scrap, has a brand new Damask Chipboard Capitals Alpha Template. A completely versatile layered alpha template with a bonus pattern already included! This chipboard alpha set includes big and little capitals (Uppercase and Lowercase), all numbers, punctuation, and European letters and characters.

Each character is saved as a separate layered .psd file with three layers - the chipboard layer, the clipping mask layer and the damask patterned layer. Use any or all of the layers; the chipboard layer already has a color overlay style built in to easily change the base color to black or another color for a striking edge.

It's almost that funtastic time of the year that we all hang out for....I'm talking about none other than National Scrapbooking Day!!!! YAY!!! I hope you all have plenty of room on your HD or EHD because believe me you are going to need it as there is just so much going on over NSD in the digiworld.

My goodness I'm exhausted just after typing the title!! This is going to be a busy post.

Firstly, what's new in my stores!!!! I just love photo masks so I've got 2 new sets in 3 of my stores. Here is a free sampler of one of my photo masks for you to try out. I just love how your photos blend in so much better with your background paper than if you use a normal shape like the bottom circle photo example in my preview below.

{For the Kids - Charity Collaboration Kit}

Bouquet of Pixels designers created this charity collab for Linda's (Linda's Dream Designs) nephew & his family. Linda is a designer here in our store.

Here's a little of their story: Joey and his wife, Karri, have 5 children: Kylie (12), Emily (10), Nathan (9), Cayden (8), and Braden (6). They were among the families tragically affected by the tornadoes in Oklahoma in February of 2009. They had a fire in their home during these storms, and they lost everything. They were unable to afford insurance and are, therefore, left with absolutely nothing. Their fire was due to the grass fires that happened and the storm winds stoked the fire that caught their home on fire. Thankfully, nobody was home at the time it happpened, and they are all safe. They are staying with family for a short time.

This fun collaboration includes 84 papers (300 dpi) and 119 elements. Also included are 2 templates (psd and png files) and 1 FULL alpha! Don't pass up this amazing deal and let's help Linda's nephew and family! Thanks!

{Time for a Makeover}

Ok so I thought it was time that I had a makeover - blog makeover that is!!!!

Mind you I wouldn't mind a complete makeover for myself from top to toe!!! It's been such a long time since I spent that sort of time and money for some much needed pampering but as usual there's always something else that the money has to be spent on - mortgage, groceries, kids, medical insurance, petrol etc. etc. the list just goes on. So for the time being I've given my blog a makeover instead!!!
